While keeping the highest standards of quality in mind, this jacket was also designed with department budget constraints in mind. The outer shell is a 3-Ply supple Taslan Nylon. The underside of the shell fabric is coated to make it waterproof-breathable ensuring the wearer is kept warm and dry during inclement weather.

Duty Jacket Front

There shall be a #8, 27-1/2" black Vislon zipper front on medium regular size. This shall start from the bottom of the jacket and zip to the top of the collar.

Duty Jacket Badge TAB

There shall be a badge tab affixed to the left breast, 6-1/4" above the flap. There shall be two small metal eyelets spaced 1 1/2" apart.

Duty Jacket Badge Pockets

There shall be two lower two-way patch pockets, with reversed pleats and snap down flaps. The side entry hand warmer pockets shall be fleece lined. The flaps shall measure 6-7/8" wide, 2-5/8" high at the center point. The pockets shall measure 6-3/4" wide and 7-5/8" high. The flaps and pockets shall have a 1/4" topstitch all the way around.

Duty Jacket Collar

There shall be a permanent collar made of shell goods. An optional removable pile collar FUSU made with shell goods is available. The optional collar shall have 5 buttons on the inner side and 5 buttons on the outer side for jacket attachment.

Duty Jacket Sleeves

There shall be elastic adjustable cuffs with a Velcro closure.

Duty Jacket Epaulets

There shall be cross-stitched epaulets. These shall measure approximately 2-1/4" wide. They shall finish at a point about 1/2" from the neck seam. There shall be a 24 ligne metal "P" button at the end with a button hole and Velcro closure.

Duty Jacket Side Vents

There shall be YKK zippered side vents. There will be a 10" black nylon coil zipper set into the side seam beginning at the hem. There shall be a 1" snap tab closure from bottom of jacket.

Duty Jacket Removable Liner

There shall be a zip-out 3M Thinsulate ® removable liner, 200 gm 3M Thinsulate ® body, 100 gm 3M Thinsulate ® sleeves.

Sewing / Seams

The shoulder seam, armhole, sleeve out seam, and all other joining seams shall be single needle.

THREAD:
Must be 3-ply, #40 poly-core, vat dyed to match shell.

Duty Jacket Interlining

The pocket welts shall be interlined with a non-woven material.

Police Parka Duty Jacket Label

EACH GARMENT WILL CARRY THE FOLLWING: MANUFACTURER'S NAME, "WPL" OR "RN" NUMBER AS REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, FABRIC CONTENTS, SIZE AND COMPLETE LAUNDERING INSTRUCTIONS. LABELS WILL BE PERMANENT TO WITHSTAND REPEATED CLEANINGS FOR THE LIFE OF THE GARMENT.

Finishing

ALL GARMENTS SHALL BE FINISHED IN A FIRST CLASS WORKMANLIKE MANNER WITH ALL LOOSE THREADS REMOVED. THE OMISSION OR APPARENT OMISSION OF ANY WORDING OR SPECIFICATIONS SHALL MEAN THAT ONLY THE HIGHEST QUALITY INDUSTRY STANDARDS SHALL BE USED ON ALL FABRIC AND COMPONENT PARTS INCLUDING LABOR.
